Mechanized realities
Constructed oh so carefully
Seeping into dormant thoughts
Replacing vigil sighs

Slip into the unknown land
Where sky is sea and sea is sand
Overlapped with crystal grey
Awash, you try to stand

Transfixed eyes gaze heavenward
As liquid skies, severe and blurred
Trace delusions, empty molds
Conceived in all but light

Comatose, your mind protects
The world your other life rejects
Wonders cease, the fabric tears
As flames spread east to west

Reveries are scarcely held
Where conscious memories often meld
Ceased retention soars away
Across this sordid tide

Fade to black, you errant smirk
Don't bother with a swift goodbye
Wondrous worlds collapsing few
I knew it was a lie.
